One Piece Episode #1067 may not have reached the same level of excitement as its previous episode, but it still managed to build anticipation for the upcoming Episode #1068. The fact that the series is maintaining its regular release schedule suggests that this episode may not be as thrilling as some of the best moments in the Wano arc. Nonetheless, viewers can expect some noteworthy scenes similar to those in recent episodes.
Episode #1068, titled “Moon Princess Echoes! The Final Phase of Wano Country!”, is scheduled to air on Sunday, July 9th, at 9:30 am Japanese Standard Time (JST). For international fans, it will be simulcast on Crunchyroll on July 2nd at 7:00 pm Pacific Time (PDT), 9:00 pm Central Time (CT), and 10:00 pm Eastern Time (EST) in the US. In the UK, it will be available on Sunday, July 9th at 3:00 am British Summer Time (BST). Fans of the English dubbed version will have to wait for its premiere on Funimation at a later date.
Episode #1067 resolved several loose ends from the previous episode, most notably the battle between Law, Kid, and Big Mom. Despite Big Mom’s attempt to use her powerful Soul Pocus technique, Kid and Law managed to deal devastating blows and ultimately defeat her. As she fell, she cursed the late Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, for inspiring a new generation of pirates. Additionally, the battle between Raizo and Fukurokuji seemed to reach its climax as Fukurokuji caught fire and fell. Importantly, Momonosuke also discovered a potential connection between the massive elephant-like island, Zunesha, and the enigmatic figure known as Joy Boy.
With Big Mom’s defeat, Episode #1068 will likely showcase the reactions of other major characters. Despite their ongoing intense battle, it’s probable that Kaido and Luffy will take notice of Big Mom’s loss, considering their long history together. This turn of events may intensify Kaido’s desire to fight Luffy. Furthermore, the organization CP0, which monitors the raid for the World Government, is likely to react to the news and may even inform the five elders about it. However, now that Big Mom has been defeated, the focus of the episode will likely shift to other aspects of the raid.
While it’s challenging to predict which specific plot threads One Piece will prioritize, the title of Episode #1068, “Moon Princess Echoes! The Final Phase of Wano Country!”, suggests that Princess Hiyori may play a significant role. Despite her absence during the raid, she previously appeared as the courtesan Komurasaki, distracting the villainous shogun Orochi. This episode will likely revisit that plot point and hopefully lead to Orochi’s ultimate defeat, marking the end of his rule over Wano. However, even if Orochi’s downfall doesn’t occur in this episode, One Piece will surely provide a satisfying transition into the next phase of the raid.
